Communication skills module aims to prepare English as
second language students to follow their bio-science degree programs in
English medium. It enables to improve interpersonal skills, integrated
participation and engagement with their studies by building awareness and
understanding of the core values and expectations of academic culture
besides providing students with practical strategies to be an effective
communicator in both “productive (speaking/writing) and receptive
(listening/reading)” English language macro and micro skills. Students are
encouraged to develop analytical, critical thinking and independent
learning.in addition, it facilitates to develop and improve ‘communication
skills’. To assist undergraduate students to achieve success in academia at
the tertiary level and the world of work as a competent and confident user
of English language.
